Celebrations Of Love | Weddings & Events by Christine

Living just four miles south of my parents’ home where I grew up with my four sisters, I’m not only familiar with the streets of Kansas City and the surrounding metro area, but they are ones I have driven, walked, and explored for over 25 years. I attended Saint Louis University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from John Cook School of Business, so I also have a soft spot in my heart for everything Saint Louis, especially those Cardinals.

As a wedding planner, I get to combine my passion for helping people with my knack for problem-solving and creative thinking. I like to say that I’m the thread that runs through every part of the wedding, tying together all of the pieces to create one cohesive event. And I believe every bride deserves an assistant—a “fairy godmother”—on her special day.

An advocate for my clients’ wishes through every step of the planning process, I make sure they feel comfortable and confident in all of their decisions. To guarantee that everything runs smoothly, I bring vendors up to speed, keep track of details and timing, and act as an extra set of hands. I never settle for less than my best in any area. The result? My clients and their families can simply relax and celebrate!

Now, if you don't find me in local craft shops searching for the perfect items for my clients’ weddings or at networking events catching up with other area wedding professionals, you might find me running triathlons/5ks or enjoying the preserve that surrounds my little yellow cottage. Staying healthy and positive is my top priority so that my jam-packed schedule doesn’t wear me down—though a cup of coffee (or a few!) often helps me power through. When it’s time to relax, my absolute favorite things to do are cuddle up with a million blankets (especially on a snowy winter night), watch romantic movies, and drink a glass of blush wine or champagne.

Pretty + Planned

Hi…I’m Stephanie!

I’ve been coordinating events in the Kansas City area for over 12 years now. I got my start with my first college internship with ‘A Brides Best Friend’ a wedding consultant company. This experience developed within me the desire to expand my knowledge of event coordination, and the dream of starting my own business. After my internship I worked as a lead wedding coordinator for Unity Village, a large and busy venue in Kansas City, where I sometimes balanced multiple weddings a day. Having experienced planning in both my college internship, and then on a corporate level, I knew in my heart that entrepreneurship was the route I wanted to pursue. So my journey building my own business began!

I completely love being a personal wedding & event planner. I love when my clients tell me how invaluable I am to them, and how I’ve turned their dream plans into reality. It’s a amazing feeling to be the person someone trusts with their plans, and to be able to put everyone at ease so that the day can be enjoyed to the fullest without worry or stress.

I’d love to hear from you and discuss how I can help turn your ideas into reality!

1. Kelsey Diane Photography

Why hello! Personally, I think it is so critical to get to know who is photographing your big day, your family, or your loved one.

I have always classified myself as a nerd my entire life. I was the kid who was more interested in figuring out computer programs and coding than shopping or sleepovers. I have gone through many stages of awkward in my life from Harry Potter glasses to the Madeline haircut to the librarian being a friend of mine in middle school. I love collecting books, figurines, and fangirling over video games and television shows. Specifically, the fantasy genre (Supernatural and Game of Thrones anyone?). I am big music lover and have been to dozens of concerts in my lifetime. Barnes and Noble is my happy place and always a spot for me to wander into whenever I need to be cheered up or to relax. I love to travel and find out more on what the world has to offer, however I always come back home to be in my pjs with my two pups. I am one to always make friends and it excites me when I discover connections with new people!

Art has always been interwoven in my life and I had never considered myself an artist until I was up on a rooftop in Baltimore at my cousin’s wedding. I remember explicitly my mother pointing out their photographer and telling me that could be me one day. I never considered photographing weddings until many landscapes and abandoned places were explored when I realized how desperately I wanted to include people. But more specifically people in love. The idea of love to me is shameless. Growing up, I had a hard time being myself, and the idea of finding someone that accepts you the exact way you are just sounded so insane to me. Those relationships are what inspire me. I want to focus on what makes the two of you, you! I love giving credit to our beautiful world with wide shots, while also focusing on close, detail, and intimate shots as well. On your wedding day I want to cover every single perfection that involves it, to your table centerpieces, florals, and rings, to your family, friends, and your significant other. I would love to meet you two and learn more about your wonderful story, as long as coffee is involved!

OH, HEY THERE!

Our  creative little company started back in 2012 amid little fanfare and even less studio space. We have since blossomed into full fledged fanfare and a slightly larger studio space!

Weddings are our bread & butter! We simply can't get enough of them. We began doing solely wedding photography and grew into wedding videography and photo booth services! We do about 40 weddings per year and our spots fill up so fast so book sooner than later!

Our team is a collective of visual storytellers committed to describing the beauty of your day in a photo album worthy of a magazine. We think we have a pretty awesome dynamic that you won't mind having as a part of the biggest day of your life, your wedding day!

4. Heriloom Photo Company

We are a team of fine art documentary photographers. We believe life is incredibly beautiful. We want to document you as you are, the moment as it is, and to tell the story of your life.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Beauty surrounds us, it is in our natural movement and genuine expressions. It exists in joy and in pain. It is in the love we share with each other. In the nature that surrounds us, and in the items we hold dear.

We are journalistic photographers. We want to document the moment as it is, to capture the beauty that you are, and give you a timeless gift. Still frames that tell a story and truly speak of the beauty that is your life.

INTERVIEW WITH A PRO | EAST & WEST DESIGNS

East & West Designs Samantha and Lauren Kansas City Wedding Stationary

Hi! We’re Samantha & Lauren from East & West Designs. We create wedding invitations and custom stationery items. We love working with brides and grooms to make their paper items for their wedding day super special and personal! We met at Kansas State University getting our Bachelors of Fine Arts degrees in Graphic Design. While at K-State, we both discovered that we wanted the same future: owning our own business. After realizing how much we loved designing wedding invitations for our friends and family, E+W was born! Sharing a business with your best friend is the best thing we could have ever done. We bounce ideas off of each other, we trust each others’ strengths, and we just have a good time (and we think that translate to our work). Everything we create is made with love for love and that is so rewarding!

HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR WEDDING STATIONARY:

Start with some good old Pinterest research. You’ll so sooo many ideas out there so don’t feel like you have to find exactly what you want. That’s the beauty of customized invitations; they’re made just for you.

Trust your stationery designer, with our background in design, we have talked with and worked for many clients over time and have gotten used to translating ideas into real world products. What we love to do at East & West is get to know you and what you want your wedding day to look like and that allows us to design something that’s just your style :)

Figure out what’s really important to you! If you really love the idea of calligraphy on your envelopes, we can adjust the budget to make that happen!

Trends We're Currently Loving!

  • Texture: we love a good felt, linen, or alternative paper!
  • A Pop of Color: adding a bright enveloped or painted belly band makes a huge statement!
  • Wax Seals: wal seals on everything. Enough said.
